參考譯文:我希望，我們本著坦誠的精神來進行本周的談話，讓我們從一開始就認識到這樣幾點：過去，我們有的時候是敵人，至今還有分歧。我們之所以能走到一起是因為我們擁有超越這些分歧的共同利益。我們在談論分歧的時候，雙方都不會屈服于對方。但是，我們雖然不能消除我們之間的分歧，我們卻可以搭一座橋，以便于跨越這座橋來進行對話。
